Meet the Iconographer

Sarah Elizabeth Livick-Moses lives in Erie, PA with her husband, John Thomas, and their lovely pup, Mr. Tumnus. She is an Eastern Orthodox Christian trained to use egg tempera and gold leaf gilding in the traditional practice of Byzantine iconography. Sarah holds a PhD in Systematic Theology and loves to engage her readings and research with her creative experience as a painter and iconographer. Sarah received a blessing of her hands to serve as an iconographer in 2022 by Bishop John of Worcester and New England.

 
 
 
 
 

A Family Legacy

Sarah began studying iconography with her grandmother, Elizabeth Randell, when she was in middle school. She would often spend summers at Elizabeth’s mountain home in North Carolina, helping her care for her goats, chickens, and gardens while immersing herself in her grandmother’s creative studio environment.
